EPC procurement is built around a project schedule and a fixed commercial-operation date, not a one-off purchase. It involves megawatt-scale volumes, container-level freight and forwarding, staged delivery aligned to construction phases, and financing structures like escrow and bonding. Equipment also has to clear independent-engineer and bankability review, so selection weighs documentation and compliance alongside price. Can escrow and freight be structured around a specific COD deadline?
Yes. Escrow milestones and container freight can both be sequenced to the project timeline, so payments release and shipments land in the order construction actually needs them, with the commercial-operation date as the anchor. That keeps delivery from slipping behind vendor availability and gives the schedule a procurement backbone rather than a set of disconnected orders.
Does value engineering compromise a project's bankability?
It does not have to.
